Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Segment from packed red blood cell unit.

Specimen Volume: Two segments from red blood cell unit.

Specimen Minimum Volume: One segment from red blood cell unit.

Collection Instructions:

1. Label segment with unit number.

2. Specify antigen(s) to be typed.

3. Note number of units needed.

4. Alomere Health Hospital Laboratory performs limited antigen typing. 

Antigens available for testing:  C, c, E, e, K, Jk^a, Fy^a and M
